For residents of the City of Winona
Smoke alarms save lives! Home fires claim seven lives every day, but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. That’s why the American Red Cross of Minnesota and Dakotas region is offering to install free smoke alarms, create escape plans, and share fire safety information as part of their nationwide Sound the Alarm events and Home Fire Campaign to help save lives.
The Red Cross, along with the City of Winona Fire Department, will be installing FREE smoke alarms on Saturday May 11th in the Winona community. Make a request for a free smoke alarm at SoundTheAlarm.org/mndaks, or call (507) 287-2200 if:
- You do not have a smoke alarm,
- Your current smoke alarm isn't working, or
- You cannot install a smoke alarm for any reason
