Mayor Scott Sherman welcomed and congratulated the Cotter High School Girls Cross Country team and Erik Semling on achieving state championship titles at the Minnesota State High School League Class A Championship meet on November 2nd. This is the first ever girls cross country state championship in school history. Pictured with the Mayor are team members Hazel Freyre, Emma Hatanpa, Isabelle Katwa, Kyra Kotsmith, Macy Piechowski, Sonja Semling, Brooklyn Staudacher Olivia Teichroew, and Kaylee Van Etten. Sonja Semling also placed third overall at the state meet. Also pictured are Head Coach Mike Costello and Assistant Coach Brian Semling. Assistant Coach Tom Reigstad was absent.
The Mayor also congratulated Erik Semling on his championship season and placing first overall in the boys division with a record setting time of 15:23 and set the record for youngest boys champion in Class A history.
