A West Broadway Street Reconstruction Project from Hilbert Street to Jackson Street is scheduled to be constructed this summer. The project will reconstruct the water main, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, curb and gutter, pavement, driveway approaches and much of the sidewalk. Unfortunately, we will be taking out many of the trees, but we will be replacing as many as possible. The reason for taking the trees is that the larger trees will have too many roots cut during the project to ensure that they will be safe to leave in. Tree clearing may start mid to late March. Construction will be expected to start mid-May and continue through the end of October. During most phases of the project there will be no access on the street due to excavations.
The property owners in and around this project area are invited to attend an Open House to review and comment on the project plan on Wednesday, January 22nd from 4:00-6:00 PM in the Council Chambers, third floor at City Hall, 207 Lafayette Street. The purpose of the Open House is to provide an opportunity for people to hear a brief overview of the process and project, view the conceptual drawings, discuss ideas, and provide input to the engineers. Please join us.
