Xcel Energy, and its contractor MJ Electric, will be installing an underground duct bank that will start at the substation at the end of Liberty Street and go south to 2nd street. The duct bank will turn west onto 2nd Street and continue to Harriet Street. The work will consist of an open trench excavation with pavement and restoration to follow behind as the job progresses.
Starting 2/10/25, the parking lane on the south side of 2nd Street will close from Liberty Street to Harriet Street for hydro excavation work. Expect this work to take place until 2/22/25. No parking signs will be posted on 2/7/25.
Starting 2/17/25, the parking lane and drive lane on the south side of 2nd street will close from Liberty Street to Lafayette Street for underground duct bank work. This closure will continue to move west to Harriet Street as work progresses. Work is expected to be completed by 6/6/25.
